Italy's only DOCG rosato — serious structure from Mount Taburno's limestone.
A family rooted in Taburno
Italy's only DOCG rosato — serious structure from Mount Taburno's limestone.
Founded in 1901 at the foot of Mount Taburno, Cantina del Taburno is one of Campania's oldest cooperatives, its member growers farming the limestone slopes above Benevento for over a century. Their Aglianico del Taburno DOCG is the region's quiet rival to Taurasi — and it makes one of Italy's only DOCG rosato wines.
The Taburno rosato is no frivolous pool-side wine. Saignée-bled from Aglianico grown on pure limestone, it carries deep coral colour, serious structure and a mineral backbone that lets it drink year-round, not just in summer.
Cantina del Taburno is one of the independent estates Luigi & Jo Di Caprio visit each harvest, tasting from barrel to bottle before a single case ships to our Surrey bonded cellar.
The soil that shapes the wine
Mount Taburno's limestone spine reflects the sun back onto the vineyards, ripening the Aglianico fully while the altitude preserves acidity. The calcareous soils give the wines a chalky, mineral core — the reason a Taburno rosato can age where most cannot.

The Taburno cooperative
We bleed the rosato from the same Aglianico that makes our DOCG red. It deserves to be taken seriously — poured at the table, not just by the pool.
