The Estate Story

A family rooted in Irpinia

Proving volcanic Greco has the nerve to challenge top Champagne.

Founded in 1986 in the wake of the Irpinia earthquake, Feudi di San Gregorio set out to prove that Campania's volcanic native grapes could stand beside the world's great wines. Their hillside estate at Sorbo Serpico has since become one of southern Italy's most decorated producers.

For their DUBL Metodo Classico they partnered with Champagne legend Anselme Selosse — a collaboration built on the conviction that 100% native Greco, grown on volcanic tufo and aged on its lees, has the mineral density and nerve to rival the finest Champagne.

Feudi di San Gregorio is one of the independent estates Luigi & Jo Di Caprio visit each harvest, tasting from barrel to bottle before a single case ships to our Surrey bonded cellar.

The Terroir

The soil that shapes the wine

Feudi's vineyards climb the Irpinian hills on deep volcanic tufo, the same compressed ash that gives Greco di Tufo its spine. The high altitude and cool nights keep the Greco taut and mineral, so the DUBL sparkling carries the saline, chalky precision of true méthode traditionnelle.

From the Winemaker

In collaboration with Anselme Selosse

We believed Greco could sparkle alongside Champagne — and Anselme agreed. Twenty-four months on the lees, all volcanic fruit, no compromise. The perlage is the proof.
