Fontanavecchia
The ancient Phoenician grape Falanghina at its purest and most thirst-quenching.
A family rooted in Torrecuso
The ancient Phoenician grape Falanghina at its purest and most thirst-quenching.
The Rillo family founded Fontanavecchia in Torrecuso in 1971, dedicating themselves to the Sannio's native Falanghina — a grape the Phoenicians are believed to have brought to Campania nearly three thousand years ago. Today Libero Rillo tends the hillside vineyards that catch cool breezes from Monte Pentime.
The result is Campania's most beloved everyday white: fresh, blossom-scented and thirst-quenching, with a biting green-apple acidity and a lingering crushed-seashell finish that speaks straight from its limestone soils.
Fontanavecchia is one of the independent estates Luigi & Jo Di Caprio visit each harvest, tasting from barrel to bottle before a single case ships to our Surrey bonded cellar.
The soil that shapes the wine
Torrecuso's hills rise above Benevento, open to the breezes that funnel down from Monte Pentime. The clay-limestone soils keep the Falanghina lively and aromatic, while the constant wind dries the canopy and concentrates the grapes' floral character.

Libero Rillo
Falanghina is Campania's everyday joy — the wine we drink with family at the table. We keep it honest: no oak, no tricks, just the grape and the Sannio hillside.
