The Estate Story

A family rooted in Cilento

Cold-pressed within four hours of harvest from Cilento's ancient olives.

Inside the Cilento National Park, the Marsicani family tend ancient Pisciottana and Frantoio olive trees — some centuries old — pressing their fruit in a traditional frantoio within four hours of hand-harvesting. Nicolangelo Marsicani is recognised as one of Italy's greatest master millers.

The oil is bottled in UV-blocking dark glass to protect its vivid green-gold colour and artichoke-leaf bite. Drizzled over warm bread or buffalo mozzarella, it is the taste of the Cilento hillside itself.

Frantoio Marsicani is one of the independent estates Luigi & Jo Di Caprio visit each harvest, tasting from barrel to bottle before a single case ships to our Surrey bonded cellar.

The Terroir

The soil that shapes the wine

Cilento's limestone hills rise just behind the Tyrrhenian coast, catching the sea winds that keep the olive groves healthy and the fruit cool. The calcareous soils give the oil its artichoke-leaf, tomato-vine bite and its long, peppery finish.

From the Winemaker

Nicolangelo Marsicani

Four hours from tree to press — any longer and the oil loses its soul. We bottle it dark so the colour and the bite arrive at your table exactly as they left the frantoio.
